Only my second week doing this and I’ve already ran into a Monday where I couldn’t sleep and I’m barely hanging on, but fortunately there is a lot of good music to get excited for! I spent this past weekend mostly listening to the new Spiritbox record, but there were a few other new things I found that were really cool, and I caught up on some things I’d missed.
Here is my music recap for the weekend of 3/7/25:
Spiritbox
Getting new Spiritbox a week after Architects was a gift, but I was not prepared for Tsunami Sea. I’ll write up a separate post with my thoughts after the 5 or 6 listens I got in so far but suffice to say this was a dense album that took me a few listens to even wrap my head around, and once I did I saw an album that I think will be a modern classic.
Accvsed, The Narrator
I’m not sure I’ve ever listened to these artists but this song crossed my path and I thought it was sick.
The Callous Daoboys
Another one I’m slightly late to, this song showed up on my Spotify release radar Friday, and although I’ve heard The Callous Daoboys a few times I’d never really listened to them proper, and I thought this song was a lot of fun.
Vianova
Vianova’s bio on Spotify just says “Angry dance-music. Based in Berlin.” I really liked what I heard and I guess that’s all I needed to know.
6ix
I really liked the JVB album last year so Spotify surfaced this song for me, off an album from producer 6ix that a quick skim told me I would also love.
Lost Souls feat. Ghost Inside
I’ve been a fan of The Ghost Inside for a long time so this song was pretty sick.
Jennie feat. Childish Gambino, Kali Uchis
A surprise Gambino! I’ll take it!
Silverstein
I’ve never listened to much Silverstein but I’ve liked a lot of their recent stuff and just found out about this album, first of two this year. Great first part, will keep an ear out for part 2.
